The Wanderlust Hotel Review

by Joe Kelly March 18, 2018
by Joe Kelly March 18, 2018

Located smack in the middle of two popular tourist areas, Little India and Arab Street, this boutique hotel is for anyone with a quirky side or doesn’t believe life should be taken so seriously.

Singapore’s Wanderlust Hotel is whimsical in decoration and modern in design. Their lobby contains a fusion of barber shop seats, a foosball table, furniture full of personality and a slick bar. The halls are colourful and the bedroom that we stayed in was adorned with luminous cut outs, including the frame of our bed. And if you’ve ever wanted to plunge feet first into a rainbow, The Wanderlust Hotel has a multi-coloured Jacuzzi that brightens up any Instagram feed.

It’s the location that I feel is The Wanderlust Hotel’s biggest selling point. I liked that it would only take me ten minutes to walk to one of the popular areas for dinner, that the café filled Bali and Haji Lane are so close by, and that if I wanted to go further, the Jalan Besar MRT station was less than two minutes away. You can read my Singapore recommendations here.

I recommend backpackers and hipsters staying at The Wanderlust Hotel, and not that it’s a budget hotel by any means, but it’s in a great location for those who want to explore and don’t want to spend lavishly while in Singapore. Plus, their Handy device was the best of those I tried as it allows you to turn Handy into a personal hotspot so you can use your own phone while in Singapore. Perfect for Instagramming!
