The Best Places to Stay in Sidemen, Bali

Camaya

If you have the foresight to plan your trip to Bali and around Sidemen well in advance, then look into staying at the Camaya. This open aired villa with the suspended hammock has been made instafamous by Instagram that you need to book nearly a year in advance to stay for a maximum of two nights.

But it’ll be worth the wait as you’re rising in the wee hours of the morning when the mist descends over the rice terraces with Mount Agung in the background.

There are several more bamboo villas currently being made that will open in March so make sure you enquire about availability if you’re going to Sideman soon.

Nirvana Villa

On the same property as the Camaya is a lovely villa that we stayed in called Nirvana Villa. Garden walks, an open aired restaurant with rice terrace views, and friendly staff that treat their guests like family.

This villa is so homey, and you will feel so relaxed staying at this peaceful property. And, the best thing is you can still get your Camaya hammock shot – arrange your dates with Nirvana Villa and book yourself in for an hour between checkout and check-in to get that Instaworthy shot.

The Hideout

Hidden in the mountains of Gunung Angung volcano surrounded by rice fields and authentic villages are bamboo Houses shaped like beehives. The eco-friendly villas are truly unique in design and set at the riverfront in the midst of the Balinese jungle, The Hideout is one of the most magical places to stay in Sidemen, Bali.

Patal Kikian Villas

Wake up to glorious sunrise views of Mt. Agung, and if you’re lucky, on a clear day you can bask in the majesty of the looming mountain throughout the day from the comfort of your private terrace or the public infinity pool.

Believe us when we say that the staff will go above and beyond to make sure your stay in Sidemen is comfortable, including waiting outside Banks late at night to rescue swallowed cards!

As well as high tea, breakfast is also included at these Airbnb villas, which you can also have as a floating breakfast in the pool as you gaze up and out at Mt. Agung.

Wapa Di Ume

If you’re looking to combine a little bit of luxury with your back to nature Sidemen trip, why not you can stay in the 5-star resort, Wapa Di Ume. With a pool seemingly designed for the gram, this beautiful resort is surrounded by a flowing river and panoramic views of rice terraces, all of which you can enjoy in one of their stunning luxurious Pool Villas. Also, their restaurant provides a great artisan level of coffee.

Hi Joe, love your article, and the photo’s are just unbelievable. Wish you could have come to Samanvaya while you were in Sidemen and saw what we had to offer. Maybe next time. Enjoy your travels and keep up the excellent work

Hi Tracy, Thank you so much for your lovely comment. We love Sidemen and aim to go visit again in a couple of months, so we will certainly get in touch about seeing Samanvaya.
