Canggu is continuously expanding and growing with new cafes and restaurants popping up almost seemingly every day. The food and coffee scene in Canggu is of a really high standard, making it hard to have a bad dining experience. Here’s our list of the best cafes in Canggu.

BGS
Simple in design with its exposed ceiling and limited seats, BGS (Bali General Supply) is a cafe-shop fusion that serves the best coffee in Canggu. This is not a statement to make lightly considering all of the competition available in Canggu, but BGS’ coffee is so smooth, unbelievably good and available at a great price. There’s also just a cool vibe that radiates from the place without trying that makes everyone feel welcome. Go in the morning though, because in the afternoon the sun belts down on the café.

Gowes Coffee
One of the grittier cafes in Canggu with its wooden interior and darker lighting, with their blend of coffee matching. Gowes is my (Joe’s) personal favourite café to write and work in. It’s small, which means seats are limited, it’s inside with air-conditioning and there’s plenty of plug sockets. I find that my creativity flows when I open up my laptop. They also operate the loyalty card system, which is quite rare to find in Asia, never mind just Bali.

The Hungry Bird
The working digital nomad’s café that many consider one of the best cafes in Canggu. The Hungry Bird used to be our regular haunt before we got a dog (click here for our dog friendly cafes in Bali) and somewhere we frequented on a daily basis. They roast their own coffee beans on the premises in an attached room and are exceptional with their latte art designs. You can sit either outside or inside with air conditioning. Their lack of plug sockets though mean you can only stay for as long as your laptop battery lasts.

Ruko Café
Located close to Berawa beach, Ruko Café is an air-conditioned friendly neighbourhood cafe in Canggu, Bali, which caters to the Westerner’s taste by using little Balinese traits.
Everything served from their All-Day Breakfast Menu and Lunch menu is well presented and decorated, and they donate 5% of all their coffee sales to support the local children’s education.

Crate Café
With their open aired warehouse interior design, Crate Café is one of the trendiest and most popular cafes in Canggu. The queues are generally as long as the café but Crate usually has enough space to accommodate the demand. They also have an indoor section to that is air-conditioned which dogs and children are restricted from. They serve massive portions of food with the average price generally being 55k for a meal.

Secret Spot
There are two branches of the Secret Spot Café in Canggu with one located on each side of the Canggu short cut. Secret Spot is a vegetarian speciality café with a tasty menu, trendy interior designs and air conditioning.
They’re also a big favourite in the community for their delicious dessert selection with many people coming in the evening to take away a scrumptious treat.

Yema Kitchen
The Moroccan inspired café is a relaxing place to be with a trendy interior design, including a pool with nets to lounge on. It’s a good place to go to either eat, work or have a coffee. Yema Kitchen serves one of the more expensive coffees on our list of Best Cafes in Canggu, and have compensated for their high price by providing one of the best blends of coffees in Canggu. They wanted to serve something different to what was already available in Canggu and conducted extensive research to create a unique blend.

Dua Tiga
One of the best cafés in Canggu to work at. Dua Tiga is a Thai-Western fusion establishment that many digital nomads congregate at. Dua Tiga offers plenty of space and serves good coffee at a very reasonable price.
It’s where we frequently go because there’s rarely an issue finding a seat, it’s a dog-friendly café and you can literally sit there all day and work.

Satu Satu
If you’re looking for a budget friendly café to have lunch and coffee at then Satu Satu has to come into the equation as one of the best cafes in Canggu. Their reasonable prices and exceptional value makes Satu Satu an extremely popular spot. The café can accommodate groups in either their air-conditioned indoor section or outdoor section.

Copenhagen
Copenhagen has a unique, and oh so delicious, menu concept where you can make up a delicious platter full of Scandinavian inspired tapas and goodies. And their homemade cinnamon roll is divine. Copenhagen is a great café in Canggu to visit if you’re a foodie and looking for somewhere to go that’s great for brunch.

Nude
Everything is better naked, so this Canggu café claims, though don’t worry because everyone who goes to this café is fully dressed.
Nude is a popular day-to-night café to go eat healthy food, and they have an air-conditioned indoor section equipped with plug sockets to suit the digital nomads. Great place to cool down on a hot day and have a fresh young coconut (30k).

Avocado Factory
Canggu is a haven for all the hipsters who love their avocado on toast brunches with a cup of good coffee, and the Avocado Factory naturally serve the best avocado inspired meals in Canggu. Including a frickin’ amazing avocado on toast. Their coffee and smoothie bowls are really good, too, all of which you can enjoy with a view of a rice field.
