Take in Sunrise at Bukit Cintra
Wake up in the early hours of the morning and take a scooter through rural Bali until you get to Bukit Cintra.
Here is akin to somewhere only read about in fiction. Bukit Cintra is a mystical setting where the morning mist rises over the stretching rice paddy fields to envelope around the base of the majestic Mt. Agung.
The early morning is the best time of day to go when the looming mountain is at its most visible before eventually becoming shrouded in mist and clouds.
Feed the Fish at Tirta Gangga
There are thousands of temples in Bali and one of the most ornate temples in Bali is the water temple, Tirta Gangga.
Giant koi fish circle you as you skip across the water steps like a frog hopping on lily pads. This former royal palace opens at 8am and costs 30,000 IDR per person to enter.
Before you enter, make sure you buy three bags of fish pellets for 10,000 IDR from one of the stalls so you can attract the gaping school of koi fish your way.
Visit Tukad Cepung Waterfall
Visiting Tukad Cepung Waterfall is a great morning activity to do while in Sidemen. What makes this waterfall so unique is that it is located within a cave.
It’s 30,000 IDR per person to enter and you’ll have to take a short 20-minute hike down some stairs to a gorge to get there.
Go early in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds, however, if you’re there around 9am-10am, you’ll be able to catch the light rays seeping in through the waterfall opening.
Explore Rice Terraces
Tegalalang Rice Terraces aren’t the only rice terraces worth seeing in Bali. In fact, the island is awash with beautiful tiered landscapes and Sidemen has more than its fair share of the lush rolling rice fields. Just drive around and enjoy the views until you see a place to hop off on the side of the road to explore.
